The Aloha Spirit in Facilities Management

31:13 min
David Trask, National Director, ARC Facilities

Albert Kahalehoi II, Vice President of Facilities and Engineering at Pechanga Resort and Casino, joins the Facility Voices conversation to share a journey shaped by culture, service, and hands-on experience. From his upbringing in Hawaii, where the Aloha spirit instilled values of respect and humility, to his early days in the U.S. Army and technical training in electrical engineering, Albert’s path into facilities management was anything but conventional. His career evolved through hospitality and gaming environments, where high-pressure operations sharpened his focus on reliability and proactive service.

In this episode, Albert reflects on the deeper purpose behind facilities work in tribal gaming, where every decision impacts community legacy. He also explores his leadership philosophy—leading by example, communicating with clarity, and serving with humility—and how it drives engagement, accountability, and team development. Through stories of mentorship, cross-training, and cultural alignment, he highlights what it takes to build a resilient, people-first organization.
